Outpatient Therapy Services
Mid-Columbia Medical Center's rehabilitation programs at Water's Edge treat the whole person in ways designed to fit each person's age, condition and therapeutic needs. In addition to comprehensive therapy gyms, rehabilitation patients also have access to the Water's Edge fitness facilities, the aquatic center's three pools and an array of mind-body programs.
The therapy program offers a comprehensive array of outpatient rehabilitation, including: treatment of neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, sport injuries, work related injuries, vestibular rehabilitation, balance therapy, wheelchair mobility, lymphedema therapy, difficulties with speech and swallowing, arthritis management, acute and chronic pain disabilities.
Physical therapy helps restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. They restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health. Their patients include accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, and head injuries.
Occupational therapy helps patients improve their ability to perform tasks in living and working environments. The occupational therapist works with individuals who suffer from a mentally, physically, developmentally, or
emotionally disabling condition.
Speech therapists, also known as speech language pathologists, work with patients to evaluate, diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders. Some of the disorders our program helps treat are: aphasia, apraxia, dysphagia, and other voice disorders.
