mPower Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation
mPower is an intensive inpatient therapy program that offers patients recovering from a wide range of illnesses and injuries the potential to achieve outstanding results as they work to regain their previous lifestyle.
Because a disability may impact a person's physical, emotional and psychological health, employment and lifestyle, our approach takes full advantage of the specialized expertise of a team of rehabilitation professional, including:
- A rehabilitation medical director/physician
- Rehabilitation nurses and patient care associates
- Physical therapists
- Occupational therapists
- Speech-language pathologist
- Social worker
- Therapeutic recreation specialist
Who Will Benefit
The mPower Acute Rehabilitation program is designed to treat patients with serious or acute chronic disabilities generally of a neurological, traumatic or orthopedic nature including:
- Stroke/CVA (cerebrovascular accident)
- Brain injury
- Spinal cord injuries
- Other neurological disorders (ie: Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis)
- Amputations
- Major multiple trauma
- Femur/hip fractures
- Congenital deformities
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Severe or advanced osteoarthritis
As with all programs of Mid-Columbia Medical Center, the patient's family plays an important role on the care team. Our staff teaches family members the skills they need to support their loved ones during the hospital stay and to continue their progress at home. Team members also help patients and their families deal with emotional and relationship issues that often accompany a disabling condition. A case manager coordinates all efforts and is the key liaison with the family.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic
Cardiac Rehabilitation is the next step after a heart attack or heart surgery, a diagnosis of chest pain or other cardiac condition. This 10-week clinic includes supervised exercise, nutrition and education in heart health management. Our goal is to restore you to optimal health, and to assist you in making lifestyle adjustments that become lifetime habits. In this program, you will work
with a physical therapist, dietitian and a cardiac nurse to set personal goals and develop a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan. The clinic is designed to help regain strength and lessen fatigue while providing the tools to reduce cardiac risk factors. Classes are offered throughout the year.
