Golfers of all skill levels are invited to tee off Tuesday, June 12, at The Dalles Country Club for the annual Mid-Columbia Health Foundation golf tournament. This year's event will benefit LifeWorks Comfort Care, a Mid-Columbia Medical Center program for patients with noncurable illnesses.
The Mid-Columbia Health Foundation's 22nd annual "Tournament of Tradition" pays tribute to Dr. Charles Miller, a longtime supporter and tourney participant, who also was a LifeWorks patient. Participants and sponsors will honor Dr. Miller's memory through an event dedicated to the legacy of his life.
Tournament proceeds will support LifeWorks, which offers a team approach to palliative care. The program was developed in 2004 to prevent and relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for those coping with serious illness. Patients and their families are guided through the network of available assistance under the direction of their primary care physician.
Mid-Columbia Surgical Specialists and FlagStone Senior Living are presenting sponsors of the tournament, with many other regional businesses and organizations supporting the event.
To sign up for the tournament or for more information, call the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation at (541) 296-7275.
