Sports Performance ... Where Good Athletes Become Great

Please Note: We still have availibilities for this program even if you start a week late! This program is flexible to allow parents to bring their kids in for one to three days a week. Parent must be present at the beginning of their child's first class to sign a waiver.

Mid-Columbia Medical Center and MCMC Sports Medicine are committed to supporting youth athletics in the Columbia Gorge region.  As part of this commitment, we are pleased to announce a new summer program of Sports Performance Training.

This is a free 6 week program working on speed, agility, strength, and injury prevention. This program will be supervised by strength coaches, athletic trainers and physical therapists from MCMC to help improve athletic performance and improve athletic body mechanics as athletes train for their specific sports.

This program will include fun group activities including dynamic warm-up, agility/quickness training, and weight training that research has shown both improves sports performance, and decreases the risk of serious knee injuries (especially ACL tears). This is a free, 2-3 time per week program provided by MCMC Sports Medicine and Water's Edge Physical Therapy.

LOCATIONS:

The Dalles: Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 8:00am – 11:00am at Amaton field beginning Monday, June 17th  through July 26th (6 weeks). Speed, agility, and quickness workout until 9:30 followed by weight training until 11:00am.

Goldendale: Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:00am – 11:00am at Goldendale High School beginning Tuesday, June 18th through July 25th (6 weeks). Speed, agility, and quickness workout until 9:30 followed by weight training until 11:00am.

Dufur: Monday, Wednesday and Fridays evenings from 7:00 pm– 9:00 pm at Dufur High School beginning Monday, June 10th through July 26th (6 weeks). Speed, agility, and quickness workout, followed by weight training until 9:00pm.

Weekly Theme/ Combine Challenge

  • Week 1: Core and Dynamic Warm-up
  • Week 2: Intro to Strength Training
  • Week 3: Speed
  • Week 4: Agility
  • Week 5: Plyometrics
  • Week 6: Combine and final testing
