Mid-Columbia Medical Center is pleased to introduce Melinda Riter, M.D., Ph.D., who in October 2013 opened the first full-time dermatology practice in The Dalles. In addition to her clinics at MCMC, twice a month Dr. Riter will serve in her role as Assistant Professor at OHSU, contributing to departmental educational events as well as seeing psoriasis and general dermatology patients as a provider within the Center of Excellence for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (CEPPA) in Portland.
Dr. Riter graduated from The Colorado College in 2001 with a degree in Biochemistry. She then began her work at The University of Colorado (CU), completing her graduate degree in Biochemical Engineering from CU Boulder in 2006 as part of CU's Medical Scientist Training Program. Her medical degree was awarded with honors from CU Denver in 2009. Her transition from Colorado started with her internal medicine internship at Stanford University in 2010 and continued to Portland for residency in Dermatology at OHSU, graduating in 2013.
Growing up in Colorado, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, cycling, skiing, hiking and camping, which attracted her to the active community of Hood River where she calls home.
