Healthy Storytime Summer 2010 Series

Thanks to all who helped to make our 2010 series special this year!  Every summer the Planetree Health Resource Center offers a free summer enrichment program for children ages 3-6.  Each week a different story focuses on attitudes and habits to keep kids healthy. Special guests are on hand to lead a fun activity to reinforce the lessons learned from the story.     Thanks again to all our guests and families who joined us for our programs this year!  We hope to see you again next year!

The Heart Truth is that heart disease affects millions of people in the US today, but it is also largely preventable. Making healthy decisions about the way you live have huge long-term impacts on your health and how you feel. Activity is a key factor in preventing heart disease and being healthy. The first annual Heart Truth Walk/Run on Saturday, February 6, helped raise awareness of heart disease prevention in women, and 152 walkers and runners of all ages had fun in the process. See the slide show.
