Through a unique partnership with
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Mid-Columbia Medical Center has expanded the availability of specialty physician and medical/surgical care in the region.
By developing this collaboration with OHSU, MCMC has been able to improve access to care in underserved specialty areas, such as Orthopedics and Cardiology, where full-time physician coverage in the past has not been a practical option.
MCMC & OHSU continue to work together exploring additional opportunites to expand specialty care that will benefit residents of the communities we serve.
MCMC|OHSU Cardiology Services
Mid-Columbia Medical Center and Oregon Health & Science University have collaborated to bring to the community David Guarraia, M.D., a specialist in heart-related conditions.
A new full-time resident of The Dalles, Dr. Guarraia brings extensive training in advanced cardiology procedures and a connection to OHSU, where he also serves on the medical school faculty.
Whether in his office or in conjunction with OHSU, Dr. Guarraia has access to a vast spectrum of resources for diagnosing and treating heart conditions such as chest pain, heart failure and high blood pressure.
Dr. Guarraia shares his office with Mark Hattenhauer, M.D. a cardiologist with OHSU, who has provided part-time cardiology care in the community for many years.
