Area of Greatest Need Grant

About the Grant – Through the Area of Greatest Need Fund, the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation is able to assist non-profit organizations throughout the region with projects that improve the health of our communities. Grant funding is made possible through generous donations from members of our community. We appreciate the generosity of our community in helping us to fulfill our mission. The Mid-Columbia Health Foundation Board of Directors typically selects one recipient each year to receive a grant of up to $5,000.

Congratulations to North Wasco County School District Education Foundation, the 2017 Area of Greatest Need Grant recipient.  The $5,000 grant award will be used to kick-off the Read ‘n Ride program at Chenowith Elementary School.  The Read n’ Ride program allows students to integrate pedaling into their otherwise sedentary reading time.  Special bike pedals are attached to the underside of desks, which is how the majority of grant money will be used.

Application for the 2018 grant award will be available soon.
