MCMC University

MCMC University is a creative, 32-hour orientation program for new Mid-Columbia Medical Center employees. While most new-employee orientation programs only cover information about policies, procedures and operations, our University program delves also into the heart of the organization: its unique culture.

In University, participants explore why MCMC is a great place to work. They learn about our history, organizational structure and current initiatives. We share our values, goals and vision for the future and we introduce our philosophy of care and service.

We help to instill pride in the organization because we want employees to excel and understand how they contribute to our culture. MCMC University was designed to give new employees the resources they need to be confident when they start their new jobs.

Our program has been identified as the benchmark for new-employee orientation by Healthcare Forum, an American Hospital Association that provides education for healthcare leaders and is a source of information on healthcare issues and trends.
