Workplace Ergonomics Program

MCMC Outpatient Therapy offers a variety of services for employers to help them reduce work-related health costs, such as on-the-job injuries or injuries due to ergonomically inadequate work stations.

Our ergonomics program can help employees minimize injury risk while performing job tasks. An ergonomic assessment can provide an array of benefits, including:

  • Reduction of work-related injuries and related expense
  • Reduction in wasteful movements and motions while doing the job task
  • Promotion of less fatiguing ways to perform tasks, which can increase productivity

Services Offered

On-site Injury Evaluation and Management

We offer experienced physical therapists for our on-site assessments and follow-up treatments. Injury management will often include joint mobilization, massage, stretching and strengthening exercises, along with education for improving body mechanics during work and ways to manage symptoms at home.

Worksite Evaluations

Our certified ergonomics specialists perform worksite assessments and provide modification recommendations. This process is proven to reduce employee fatigue and help prevent on-the-job injuries, improve body mechanics for the employee and improve the work environment to reduce repetitive strain injuries.

We employ a diverse and talented staff of physical, occupational and speech therapists, including the only certified hand therapist in the Gorge and several orthopedic and/or manually certified clinicians.

“I couldn’t believe it,” she says. “I was standing there with full weight on both legs. I came to the hospital and both knees hurt. Now, there was no pain.”
