Dr. Kathy Grewe is a cardiologist at MCMC Cardiology. She is board certified
in cardiology. She is currently seeing patients at MCMC Cardiology at
Water's Edge in The Dalles, but will be based at the Nichols Building
in Hood River when construction is finished.
Dr. Grewe completed her undergraduate training in architecture at the University
of Colorado in Boulder. After graduation, she shifted course to attend
Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in Portland,
where she received her MD degree.
Dr. Grewe took her training in internal medicine at the University of Texas
in San Antonio, followed by a fellowship in cardiology.
After a one-year specialty fellowship in interventional cardiology at Emory
University in Atlanta, she was homesick for the northwest and returned
to her hometown of Portland to begin private practice.
Dr. Grewe has been providing cardiology services to Gorge residents since
1997. She started with an outreach clinic at Skyline Hospital in White
Salmon, later adding a second outreach clinic in Hood River. She has been
practicing fulltime in the Gorge since 2012, when she moved her practice
out of Portland.
Dr. Grewe specializes in vascular and valvular heart disease. She shares
a practice with her husband, Dr. Robert Florek, who is an electrophysiologist
Dr. Grewe loves building relationships with her patients and is passionate
about helping patients improve their quality of life.
She enjoys taking advantage of the Gorge’s natural beauty. She loves
all the outdoor activities the Gorge has to offer: cycling, skiing, snowshoeing—and
landscaping the yard, which should keep her busy for years.
