Carmen Vance is a primary care provider at MCMC Internal Medicine. She
is a board certified family nurse practitioner, and Advanced Cardiac Life
After receiving her B.S. in Nursing from Boise State University, Carmen
worked as a registered nurse in a variety of settings, including St. Luke’s
Meridian Medical Center in Meridian, Idaho, where in 2010 she was honored
as Best Practicing Nurse; Cross Country TravCorps, with contracts in Alaska,
Florida, Oregon, and Washington; and Oregon Health & Science University
in Portland, Oregon.
Carmen received her Master of Nursing from Oregon Health & Science
University, where she was invited to join the Sigma Theta Tau International
Honor Society of Nursing. During her family nurse practitioner training,
she also provided healthcare for low income and homeless adults at Central
City Concern in Portland. She also worked at Mid-Columbia Medical Center’s
Internal Medicine clinic.
Her general practice focus is on internal medicine. She enjoys building
patient relationships, listening to and advocating for her patients, and
working with them to create manageable care plans.
Carmen draws on her extensive knowledge of alternative medicine—
she was raised with herbal remedies and supplements as her primary form
of healthcare and also worked in her family’s natural food and supplement
store—for patients interested in alternatives to western medicine.
For Carmen, moving to the Gorge was like coming home. Raised in southwest
Idaho, she missed small town life and experiencing the four seasons each
year. In her free time she enjoys snuggling with her Newfoundland puppy
Hank, and taking advantage of the outdoors by paddle boarding, snowshoeing,
