Carmen Vance is a primary care provider at MCMC Internal Medicine. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified.

After receiving her B.S. in Nursing from Boise State University, Carmen worked as a registered nurse in a variety of settings, including St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center in Meridian, Idaho, where in 2010 she was honored as Best Practicing Nurse; Cross Country TravCorps, with contracts in Alaska, Florida, Oregon, and Washington; and Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.

Carmen received her Master of Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University, where she was invited to join the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. During her family nurse practitioner training, she also provided healthcare for low income and homeless adults at Central City Concern in Portland. She also worked at Mid-Columbia Medical Center’s Internal Medicine clinic.

Her general practice focus is on internal medicine. She enjoys building patient relationships, listening to and advocating for her patients, and working with them to create manageable care plans.

Carmen draws on her extensive knowledge of alternative medicine— she was raised with herbal remedies and supplements as her primary form of healthcare and also worked in her family’s natural food and supplement store—for patients interested in alternatives to western medicine.

For Carmen, moving to the Gorge was like coming home. Raised in southwest Idaho, she missed small town life and experiencing the four seasons each year. In her free time she enjoys snuggling with her Newfoundland puppy Hank, and taking advantage of the outdoors by paddle boarding, snowshoeing, and skiing.

She is a member of the Oregon Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
