Rebecca Combs is a primary care provider at MCMC Internal Medicine. She
is a certified physician assistant, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
and Basic Life Support in Obstetrics certified.
Combs received her B.S. in Kinesiology, with minors in Biology and Spanish,
magna cum laude at California Polytechnic State University’s College
of Math and Science in San Luis Obispo, California.
After working as a medical assistant at Cal Poly Student Health Center,
Coastal Cardiology in San Luis Obispo, and Community Health Centers of
the Central Coast in Atascadero, California, she received her Master of
Physician Assistant Studies degree from Oregon Health & Science University’s
School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon on the rural track, which prepares
students to practice medicine in rural areas.
During her physician assistant training Oregon Health & Science University,
she also mentored high school students from rural and underserved areas
who were interested in pursuing careers in healthcare, performed health
screenings on refugee and homeless patients and connected them with community
Her general practice focus is on internal medicine. Combs enjoys building
relationships with her patients, and partnering with them to manage chronic
disease and maintain their quality of life. She believes no question should
go unanswered and strives to explain diagnosis, tests, and treatment options
without medical jargon.
During her physician assistant training in Portland, Combs fell in love
with the Gorge, which she frequently visited on weekends. She wanted to
relocate to a smaller community after graduation, so MCMC was a perfect
fit. She loves spending time with family, particularly in the outdoors,
where she enjoys camping, hiking, and running.
Combs is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the
Oregon Medical Association.
