Jane is married to John C Rogers, M.D, MPH, MEd. Jane and John first came to the Columbia River Gorge in 2004 and bought land in Mosier in 2005. They finished building their vacation/retirement home in 2012 and have been traveling here regularly to enjoy the Gorge and all that it offers.
Their active lifestyle includes running, hiking, backpacking, whitewater rafting, and mountaineering. They have completed 27 marathons, and several international rafting, hiking and mountaineering trips, including hiking the Inca Trail and rafting the Apurimac River in Peru, the Futaleufu in Chile, and the Ganges in India. They have climbed Mount Shasta in California, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Aconcagua in Argentina, and Mount Adams in Washington.
While in Houston, they were faculty sponsors of the Baylor student chapter of the Wilderness Medical Society and taught Wilderness First Aid to the general public and Advanced Wilderness Life Support classes to medical professionals, and hope to bring these courses to the community in The Dalles.
They are delighted to finally be able to combine their passions for taking care of patients and enjoying the outdoor activities available in the Gorge.
