About
Dr. Rachel W. Guild is an OB/GYN at Mid-Columbia Medical Center’s
Columbia River Women’s Center. She is Neonatal Resuscitation Program,
American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certified.
Dr. Guild completed her undergraduate training summa cum laude at the University
of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and received her MD degree from the University
of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine, where she was accepted into the
Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
After completing an Obstetrics and Gynecology Internship at the University
of Illinois Chicago, Dr. Guild took her residency at Oregon Health and
Science University in Portland, Oregon, where she also staffed a prenatal
and gynecologic clinic for inmates at Multnomah County Inverness Jail,
led OHSU’s Opioid Abuse in Pregnancy Work Group and participated
in OHSU’s Perinatal Best Practice Committee.
In 2016, Dr. Guild was awarded the AAGL Award for Excellence in Minimally
Invasive Gynecology and AUGS Award for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine
and Reconstructive Surgery. She has conducted research and presented on
a number of obstetrics and gynecology topics, and performed international
service in Ethiopia, where she completed prolapse surgeries and provided
instruction to local doctors.
Dr. Guild believes the foundation of a successful and therapeutic doctor-patient
relationship is mutual respect and shared decision-making. She enjoys
getting to know her patients, working with them to select care plans,
tests and treatments, and helping them through the difficult and joyous times.
She fell in love with the Gorge as a child, on a road trip from Chicago
to the Oregon Coast. During her residency training in Portland, the Gorge
was a refuge, where she and her husband went on hikes and explored new
towns. She feels fortunate to work at MCMC, where she can take advantage
of the outdoors by running and hiking the Oregon coast.
Dr. Guild is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
and is proficient in Spanish.
