Total Joint Experience Program

There are millions of Americans who suffer from chronic joint pain, and too often they delay seeking help due to fear, misinformation or a lack of awareness about treatment options. The Total Joint Experience at Mid-Columbia Medical Center was developed to provide individuals suffering from joint pain with comprehensive services to help return them to their highest quality of life. The program benefits those with joint pain who no longer are able to manage their symptoms through non-surgical treatment. Its primary purpose is to assist patients in preparing for, and recovering faster from, total joint replacement surgery.

If you or someone you know suffers from chronic joint pain, you may be a candidate for surgery and the Total Joint Experience. To learn more, call 541/296-8444 for information or the date of our next monthly education program.

Program Components

Monthly Outreach Program

Through regular community programs held at the Planetree Health Resource Center, individuals are offered the chance to learn about the Total Joint Experience to help determine if they are candidates for joint replacement surgery.

Pre-Operative Clinic

Prior to surgery, patients are brought together and helped by staff through the pre-surgical process. It's a convenient opportunity to take care of all the necessary paperwork, medical clearances and other necessities in a single setting.

Pre-Procedure Class

Before their procedure, patients are led through the entire joint replacement process. They learn what to expect every step of the way, from surgery through recovery and rehabilitation.

After Surgery

After surgery, individuals will recover and begin their rehabilitation in a structured program, mPower Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation, with nurses specially trained in caring for total joint replacement patients. Individuals can begin their therapy and celebrate their early successes with others who have undergone similar procedures.

Medical Supervision

The Total Joint Experience is supervised by Greg Stanley, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with extensive training and experience in joint replacement procedures. Patients will benefit from his expertise in the many new advances in replacement surgery techniques as well as his thorough knowledge of the steps to take to assure the quickest possible return to optimal health.
