Celilo Cancer Center and MCMC’s Center for Breast Care again earn elite accreditations.
Once again, MCMC’s Celilo Cancer Center has received the highest possible rating from the independent organization that surveys and evaluates cancer centers nationwide, The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons.
Celilo was awarded the coveted Accreditation with Commendation status, which indicates the center exceeded the CoC’s 36 standards of care and reporting, plus an additional nine measurements.
Commendation status is given to a minority of cancer centers. This level of approval by the nation's leading organization dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients validates years of work by MCMC administration and Celilo staff to create a truly unique, regional cancer center.
In addition to Celilo’s accreditation, MCMC’s unique Center for Breast Care also has been reaccredited by the National Association for Program for Breast Centers. In 2009, MCMC earned the distinction of having the first accredited breast care center in Oregon. Today it is one of only six accredited centers in the state.
