Richard Friday is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at MCMC Family Medicine.
Richard works collaboratively with providers to help patients at MCMC Family
Medicine address behavioral health issues and improve overall wellness.
As the clinic's Behavioral Health Consultant, Richard is able to address
a variety of behavioral health issues, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia
and stress to help patients live healthier, more satisfying lives.
Richard completed his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at Lewis and Clark
College and received his Master of Social Work at Portland State University.
Prior to joining MCMC, Richard worked in Bend, Oregon, in the Deschutes
County EASA program, an early intervention program for patients with new

Burns, Oregon, as a Behavioral Health Consultant. There he addressed behavioral
health issues and health compromising behaviors using interventions such
as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based
stress reduction and collaborative problem solving.
Richard values the integrative approach to primary care and behavioral
health at MCMC. He relocated to the Gorge to further this mission, and
to enjoy the fantastic recreational opportunities in the Gorge. In his
free time, Richard enjoys the outdoors, including sea kayaking (especially
off the coast of Vancouver Island), photography, hiking and birding.
