Coleen Moreno is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at MCMC Behavioral Health.
She believes our history, personal stories and goals are what make each
person unique. In therapy, she provides a space for shared inquiry, and
assists patients to identify and approach their concerns in a caring,
respectful manner. Typical areas to address might be: depression, anxiety,
helping to heal unprocessed grief, facilitating self-care and resourcing
after trauma, OCD, facing difficulty with life transitions, etc.
Coleen completed her Bachelor of Arts at Mills College in Oakland, California
and received her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Texas
at Austin. She continued her education with additional training including
workshops in cognitive-behavioral and family systems therapies, mindfulness-based
interventions, EMDR, and body-centered therapies.
Throughout her more than 12-year career, Coleen has provided individual,
group and family therapy for mental health and substance use disorders
in a variety of settings, including The Hazeldon Betty Ford Foundation
Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center in Newberg, Oregon, Lifeworks NW in
Beaverton, Oregon and with the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. in Portland,
Oregon and in Washington.
Coleen values how MCMC integrates the Planetree philosophy of providing
patient-centered care across departments. She starts her day with the
motivation that each individual has their own version of 'a well-lived
life' and the hope for it.
She relocated to the Gorge to join MCMC and further this mission. In her
free time, Coleen enjoys the outdoors with her family by hiking trails,
bird watching, and having cookouts.
