About
Dr. Marc McAllister joined Gorge Urology in 2010. A native of The Dalles,
Dr. McAllister attended Willamette University before entering one of the
country's most prestigious medical schools, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
He then completed a urology internship and residency training at Loma
Linda University. Dr. McAllister was drawn to urology because of the opportunity
to provide care for a broad range of conditions and the rapid technological
advances seen in the specialty. He has been trained in the latest urological
techniques, including minimally invasive surgery and robotics. There are
many surgeries we can do robotically, which before would have required
big incisions and multiple-day hospital stays. Patients can now go home
in a day or two, explains Dr. McAllister. Dr. McAllister encourages patients
to play an active role in their care by helping them understand their
condition and treatment options, which may include lifestyle changes,
medical and/or surgical solutions. In his free time, Dr. McAllister enjoys
cooking, hiking, biking, golfing and spending time with his family.
