Dr. Sheedy is the Occupational Medicine Consultant of our Occupational
Health Services, where she served as the Medical Director from October/2016
to December/2018, and remains as the Occupational Medicine Consultant
after relocation back to the Portland Metropolitan Area in January/2019.
Dr. Sheedy is a diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine,
residency-trained and Board Certified in Occupational Medicine. She earned
her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and training in Occupational
and Environmental Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and
was awarded a research grant from the National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH) of CDC to develop new knowledge in the field
of occupational safety and health and to transform that knowledge into
practice. She graduated from UCLA with a BS in Biology, and Temple University
School of Medicine for her MD, and completed her Occupational & Environmental
Medicine residency and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Medical
Centers and the Medical College of Wisconsin. She has been an active long-term
member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine
(ACOEM) for over 20 years.
She has also been a Certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) for Federal
(regulated) and Non-Federal Drug & Alcohol Testing Programs (1996-2020),
a Certified Medical Examiner of DOT-FMCSA Commercial Drivers, and a US
Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Designated Civil Surgeon
for over 20 years.
For 23 of her 30 years in medicine, Dr. Sheedy has been practicing Occupational
& Environmental Medicine (OEM) exclusively. She had practiced Internal
Medicine (2 years) and Emergency Medicine (5 years) prior to OEM. Dr.
Sheedy has been serving as a Medical Director, Medical Consultant and
Physician for numerous Occupational Medicine Programs in Oregon, including
Mid-Columbia Medical Center/MCMC, Intel Corporation, Oregon Occupational
Medicine/OOM, Northwest Permanente (Kaiser) Occupational Health, Providence
and Willamette Falls Occupational Health, Cascade Occupational Medicine,
Concentra Occupational Medicine, Occupational Medicine Consulting Services,
Adventist Occupational Health, Tuality Occupational Health, Occupational
Consultants Northwest (OCN).
