This class, taught by a psychologist, builds on Explain Pain by covering
the neurophysiological and psychobiological effects of the pain experience.
Instruction will be provided in acceptance and commitment therapy, which
involves living a values-driven and purposeful life despite experiencing pain.

About the Instructor: Sandy Bushberg, PHD
Dr. Sandy Bushberg and his wife moved to Oregon in 2003 to start a new
life together in Hood River. They spend a great deal of time enjoying
the beauty of the Gorge. Missing his previous work in Behavioral Medicine,
Dr. Bushberg approached MCMC in 2008 with the idea of creating a Primary
Care Behavioral Health Integrated Care model in the primary care clinics.
Since 2009, Dr. Bushberg has greatly enjoyed working with his medical
colleagues to help all patients who come to primary care get the highest
level of comprehensive care possible.
He has experience with most patient populations and diagnoses. He specializes
in anxiety disorders in adults and children/adolescents and ADD/ADHD in
adults and children/adolescents.
