The Dalles, Oregon, Oct. 1, 2018–Mid-Columbia Medical Center has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor
by The Oregonian. The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee
feedback gathered through the third-party survey administered last April
by Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement
tools. This is Mid-Columbia Medical Center’s third time receiving
this distinguished award.
“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey,
CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the
award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better
equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and
carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
The executive leadership team is very proud of what MCMC staff have achieved,
said MCMC President & CEO Dennis Knox.
“I’d like to thank all of our employees for their support in
helping make Mid-Columbia Medical Center one of the Top Workplaces in
2018,” Knox said. “They are the ambassadors of our mission
to spread health and wellness throughout the community. We are honored
to have such high caliber staff on board to provide patient-centered care
to Gorge residents.”
MCMC has participated in the Energage employee engagement survey every
other year since 2012. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of
workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection. This
year, MCMC had more than 70 percent participation.
“This award carries tremendous meaning for the executive leadership
team because we were judged by the people who know us best—our employees,”
Knox said. “Based on their feedback, we are heading in the right
