A local company, Hydro The Dalles who provides aluminum billet for extrusion
at other Hydro locations across the U.S. and Canada, is one of the newest
Health Foundation donors.
“The donation came as a surprise,” said Celeste Hill-Thomas,
Executive Director of MCMC Outreach, Communication & Health Foundation,
“but we are really excited that Hydro chose to support the Celilo
Cancer Center Fund.”
According to Chase Reeves, The Dalles Plant Manager, small monthly donations
to local charities and organizations is part of a recent company initiative.
“A member of our leadership team recommended Celilo Cancer Center
for our August donation,” Reeves tells us. “Many of the people
at Hydro are long time residents in the area,” he added.
The donation will be used at assist patients at Celilo Cancer Center as
they battle their disease. Some need assistance in the form of gas cards
to get to and from appointments and some will need help getting prescriptions
paid for while others will benefit from a free wig or head scarves.
