While many things have changed as a result of COVID-19, one thing that
has never changed is our commitment to your health and safety.
We want to assure you that we continue to take every precaution to ensure
that our facilities remain clean and safe. As always, we are following
the infection control recommendations made by the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC), Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and The Joint
Commission. Per those guidelines, these are some of the new procedures
and changes you will see at our hospital and clinics:
- We are asking screening questions to each patient on the phone prior to
your appointment and again when you arrive for your appointment.
- We are requiring all staff, patients and visitors to cover their nose and
mouth. Please bring a mask with you; If you do not have one, we will supply
one for you.
- Hand sanitizer is available to patients and guests in all of our facilities.
- Our waiting rooms no longer offer magazines or children’s toys as
those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- We have rearranged furniture to allow for safe social distancing in our
waiting areas.
- Appointments are being managed to allow for proper social distancing between patients.
- We are doing our best to allow greater time between patients to allow for
extensive cleaning between patients and to reduce the number of people
in the reception area at any one time.
- Visitor restrictions are in place at the hospital. We also ask that you
refrain from bringing guests with you to your medical appointments. Essential
individuals may accompany you.
- The hospital gift shop and café remain closed.
As per the Governor’s reopening plan, MCMC has reopened for elective
procedures in a limited capacity. Some high-risk procedures are still
only performed in emergencies.
Rescheduling a Canceled Procedure
We are currently in the process of calling patients whose appointments
or procedures were canceled due to the pandemic. If you have any questions
or would like to discuss your rescheduling options, please call your provider’s office.
Taking Care of Your Health
Do not hesitate to give us a call to schedule a wellness visit, screenings,
immunizations, or any other medical need you may have. Most importantly,
do not delay seeking needed care. Delaying care may result in poorer overall
health outcomes and even life-threatening situations.
Telemedicine
Depending on your medical need, when you call your provider’s office
a video visit (Telemedicine) may be recommended for you. Telemedicine
visits are ideal for discussing your symptoms and concerns with your MCMC
provider from the comfort and convenience of your own home. To schedule
a Telemedicine appointment, please call your provider’s office.
COVID-19/Coronavirus
The United States is still battling COVID-19. As such, we urge you to continue
washing your hands often; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with
unwashed hands; and practice social distancing as the virus can be spread
between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
If you have symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, please
stay home and contact your physician for further guidance.
