(January 13, 2021) --Yesterday the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) announced it would be releasing its full reserve of vaccines available
to states, rather than holding some doses in storage. As a result, Oregon
will be expanding COVID-19 vaccination to include all individuals age
65 and older, child care providers and early learning and K-12 educators
and staff.
However, this change will not happen immediately.
These vaccine shipments are expected to begin arriving in Oregon on January
23. We do not know when MCMC will receive these additional shipments.
We are collaborating with local health officials with the goal of ensuring
all residents are vaccinated as quickly as possible, per the state’s
sequencing schedule.
MCMC will provide more details on distribution plans as soon as we know
more. Thank you for your patience. Please continue to practice COVID-19
safety precautions, including wearing a mask, social distancing, hand-washing
and avoiding large gathering.
