Integrated Therapies in The Dalles
Applying Creative Solutions for Over Half a Century
Injury and disease can do more than just harm the body, they can also have
a serious impact on the patient’s mental and emotional well-being,
as well as their loved ones. Reducing stress and feeling relaxed can make
a tremendous impact on your overall health. At Mid-Columbia Medical Center,
we have been utilizing integrated therapies to help our patients recover
in mind, body, and spirit for over 50 years.
Integrated therapies are designed to create a holistic treatment experience.
In addition to your primary care, these treatments can improve your quality
of life and help you maintain a positive outlook as you work towards recovery.
Why Use Integrated Therapies?
These types of therapies are meant to help the patient reduce their level
of stress, relieve pain, and develop healthier habits. When used as a
complement to your primary treatment, integrative treatments encourage
a state of physical, mental, and social well-being.
Our integrative therapy services include:
-
Yoga: Yoga has proven to be a great way to improve a patient’s outlook
and overall well-being when being treated for cancer or other chronic
conditions. While it is mostly known for aiding with stress reduction,
flexibility, and relaxation, more and more evidence is suggesting there
are other long-term benefits. As a gentle, low impact exercise, yoga is
a useful form of exercise for people in almost any physical condition.
-
Spiritual Care: Many of our patients contemplate spiritual matters when coping with their
condition. Having spiritual needs fulfilled can play a vital role in your
ability to relax and remain positive, which is why we provided Spiritual
Care staff members and volunteers to listen to thoughts and concerns from
both patients and their family upon request.
Develop a Treatment Plan That Meets Your Unique Needs
Our patient-centric philosophy ensures that our patients' holistic
well-being is our top priority. We believe quality healthcare goes far
beyond treating the condition and its side effects, it also involves helping
patients recover mentally and spiritually. As a patient of MCMC, you can
expect a holistic healing experience.
