Our Medical Fitness Model
As a program of Mid-Columbia Medical Center, the Medical Fitness Center
at Water’s Edge offers members the opportunity to work toward their
goals in a medically supervised environment.
If you need or desire medical supervision, you will benefit from an extensively
trained staff of health professionals that is directed by a physician,
Dr. Paul Cardosi, and includes nationally certified fitness specialists,
exercise physiologists, physical therapists, dietitians, health educators
At Water’s Edge you will find a non-threatening environment, state-of-the-art
equipment and expert staff providing whatever level of supervision you
need to achieve your best quality of life.
Medical Exercise Program
Our goal is to help you become confident in your exercise while improving
strength, endurance, balance and flexibility. You will be guided by our
exercise specialist, and your exercise program will take into account
your current fitness level, goals and other factors. A doctor’s
referral is required to participate in the Medical Exercise Program.
Participants attend two sessions per week.
(access to pool, group exercise classes or sauna is not included in the program)

Pool Medical Exercise
Do you want to use the pool to improve your health but are unsure how to
Enjoy all of the benefits of our supervised Medical Exercise Program while
taking advantage of the therapeutic qualities of our salt-water pool.
You will learn how to move and get a gentle work out without creating
unnecessary pressure on your joints. The warm water and buoyancy are also
beneficial for pain relief.
Scheduled sessions will be guided by licensed professional staff, and you
do not need to know how to swim to participate. As you become familiar
with a wide range of exercises you will experience increased confidence
in the pool.
All programs are personalized with the ultimate goal of helping you transition
to independent pool use and enjoy a better quality of life. Aquatic exercise
can be used for a wide range of conditions with few limitations. For safety
purposes, participation in this program requires a physician’s referral.
Pool Medical Exercise Costs
Pool Medical Exercise program participants attend two sessions per week.
$40 per assessment
$48 per month
Medical exercise also offers a combination of land- and water-based sessions
for participants who are ready to add more days to their supervised exercise program:
Land 2 days per week and pool 1 day per week – $50 per month
Land 2 days and pool 2 days – $60 per month
