Announcing New Director of Business Development

(THE DALLES, Ore. – April 8, 2021) — Mid-Columbia Medical Center announced today the appointment Travis Dray as the hospital’s new director of business development. In making the announcement, Hospital CEO Dennis Knox praised the extensive background Dray brings to the hospital. “Travis will play an important role in the hospital’s community outreach efforts and in assuring that MCMC continues to respond to the healthcare needs of those who live and work in the Columbia River Gorge,” he said.

Dray joins MCMC with a deep background in marketing, operations and development along with a 25-year track record of successfully leading efforts in customer relations, strategic planning, brand engagement and continuous process improvements. At MCMC, Dray will oversee the hospital’s marketing, outreach, telemedicine and value improvement efforts.

Immediately prior to joining MCMC, Dray served as director of events and programming for POWDR, a national adventure lifestyle company. He has also worked in community services for the City of Tempe, Ariz., and prior to that served as the marketing and operations manager for the Oakland Athletics Baseball Company. Dray holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Western International University. He is currently on the board of The Dalles Sluggers Baseball Club and was formerly on the board of Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation.

Founded in 1901 and located in The Dalles, Mid-Columbia Medical Center is a nationally recognized hospital dedicated to serving residents of The Dalles and its surrounding communities. In 1992, MCMC became the first hospital in the nation to integrate the Planetree philosophy of patient care, which emphasizes the need to address a person’s intellectual, environmental, emotional and spiritual concerns in addition to their physical needs. As a Planetree-affiliated hospital, MCMC works to provide a caring, nurturing and educational environment; puts great efforts into humanizing and demystifying the medical experience; and strives to empower people to become active partners in their own healthcare.
