(THE DALLES, Ore. – July 27, 2021) — Mid-Columbia Medical Center
and Adventist Health Portland have entered into an agreement that will
bring Northwest Regional Heart and Vascular cardiologists to the Gorge
to provide heart care to MCMC patients, effective Sept. 1, 2021.
With existing locations in Portland, McMinnville and the Oregon coast,
Adventist Health Portland’s
Northwest Regional Heart and Vascular is a regional leader in heart care and provides advanced techniques in
the field of cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology,
cardiovascular surgery, and vascular care. Its physicians are known for
their clinical expertise and personalized care in preventing, diagnosing,
treating and managing heart conditions to help patients live longer, healthier lives.
“We are thrilled to bring this world-class heart care to residents
of the Columbia River Gorge,” said Dennis Knox, chief executive
officer of MCMC. “Through this partnership, MCMC patients will receive
the highest standard of personalized cardiac care by physicians who know
and understand the challenges of rural healthcare. The partnership will
assure the uninterrupted continuation of cardiology services while paving
the way for expanded clinical offerings in the future to meet the evolving
needs of our community.”
In addition to Northwest Regional Heart and Vascular cardiologists coming
to the Gorge, Theresa Dwyer, PA-C, will remain a key member of the cardiology
team at MCMC. Both organizations are committed to ensuring a smooth transition
for patients with no disruption to care.
MCMC and Adventist Health Portland are both nonprofit organizations committed
to enhancing the quality of healthcare provided in the Gorge and to making
healthcare accessible to local residents. Cardiology care will be available
at MCMC locations in The Dalles and Hood River with additional specialized
services available at Northwest Regional Heart and Vascular in east Portland.
